Any Concession or Compromise Cannot Be Permitted in the Matter of State Sovereignty

The Permanent Representative of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to the United Nations sent a letter on July 3 to the Permanent Representative of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) to the United Nations in support of the PRC’s enactment of National Security Law on Hong Kong.

Emphasizing that respect for sovereignty and non-interference in internal affairs constitute the fundamental principles governing the international relations to be followed by all countries of the world, the Permanent Representative of the DPRK stated in his letter that the DPRK resolutely opposes and rejects the external interventions which are detrimental to the stability and development of Hong Kong and fully supports the adoption of National Security Law on Hong Kong by the Chinese Party and government in order to safeguard the country’s sovereignty, safety and territorial integrity.
