Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee of Mexican Chamber of Deputies Expresses Willingness for Improved Relations with DPRK

Son Sun Ryong, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to the United Mexican States, met with Alfredo Ferma, Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies of the United Mexican States, on October 7.

Chairman Alfredo said that even in the face of pressure and sanctions of the imperialists, the DPRK is scoring successes in its efforts for firmly defending national sovereignty and achieving economic development under the leadership of H.E. Kim Jong Un, President of the State Affairs, and he expressed the position that he will strive actively for the development of friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Expresses Willingness to Further Develop Friendly and Cooperative Relations with DPRK

Ri Sung Gil, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela met on October 1 with Félix Ramón Plasencia González, Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

The Venezuelan Foreign Minister expressed his conviction that the DPRK will become an independent, stable and prosperous country under the wise leadership of Comrade Kim Jong Un, President of the State Affairs of the DPRK, and also expressed his willingness to work actively for further strengthening and developing the bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation, and the mutual collaboration in the international arena.

Ri Son Gwon, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), sent a message of greetings to Aissata Tall Sall, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Overseas Senegalese of Senegal, on September 16 on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The message expressed belief that the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries would expand and develop.

Meanwhile, on this occasion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Overseas Senegalese sent a message of the same kind to the DPRK Foreign Minister on September 15.

DPRK Permanent Representative to UN Office at Geneva Delivers Statement at 48th Session of UNHRC

Han Tae Song, Permanent Representative of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to the United Nations Office at Geneva and Other International Organizations in Switzerland delivered a statement at the 48th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council on September 14.

At the General Debate on Item 2 “Annual report of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and Reports of the OHCHR and the Secretary-General”, the Permanent Representative clarified his views on the issues of politicization, selectivity and double standards of human rights that hinder international cooperation in the field of human rights.

He pointed out that country reports submitted before the Council deviate from the principle of objectivity and non-bias, lacking correct reflection of the real situation of countries concerned by citing unverified and groundless information. He also said that it is an extreme manifestation that certain countries often find fault with and criminalized human rights situation of sovereign States including the DPRK based on false and fabricated information for the despicable political purposes.
