The head of the delegation of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea made a speech at the UNGA High-Level Meeting on Universal Health Coverage on September 23.
He said that activities on public health are for saving the valuable lives of human being and ensuring their dignity and fundamental rights, adding that public health is also a core issue of SDGs (sustainable development goals).

... ... ...Ri Yong Chol, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea(DPRK) to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic(LPDR), met with Mrs. Phongsamouth Anlavan, Director-General of the Department of Asia, Pacific and Africa of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the LPDR, on September 23.
The Director-General expressed her gratitude for the warm hospitality accorded by the Korean Party, government and people during her visit to the DPRK from September 10 to 14 as a member of the delegation of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party.
The Director-General said that she got to know well about the rapid development achieved by the Korean people through the latest visit and that she would make active efforts to further develop and expand the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation with the DPRK which were forged by the preceding leaders of the two countries.
Head of a DPRK delegation made a speech at the Climate Action Summit held at the UN on September 23.
Noting that non-sustainable use of natural resources and destruction of environment present a great danger to the survival of mankind today, he said the hottest five-year record from 2015 due to continued rise in temperature shows that the climate change is a serious global issue whose solution brooks no further delay.
All UN member states should consider the climate change issue from moral and ethical viewpoint, he held, adding that some countries are deliberately turning blind eyes to the issue of climate change for the sake of their own economic interests.
... ... ...Mun Jong Nam, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea(DPRK) to the Syrian Arab Republic met and had a talk with Dr. Bassam Ibrahim, Minister of Higher Education of the Syrian Arab Republic on September 18.
The issues on cooperation and exchange between the two countries in the educational field were discussed at the talk.
The Minister of Higher Education highly appreciated the great progress and development achieved by the DPRK in the fields of education, science and technology under the wise leadership of Leader Kim Jong Il and Leader Kim Jong Un and expressed his hope to further develop and expand the cooperation and exchange in the fields of education and scientific research in conformity with the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Kang Sam Hyon, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea(DPRK) to the Islamic Republic of Iran, paid a farewell call on Mohammad Javad Zarif, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran on September 18.
The Foreign Minister appreciated the successes being achieved by the Korean government and people in various fields, overcoming economic obstacles, and he expressed hope that the Korean people would achieve greater progress and prosperity under the leadership of His Excellency Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK.
He affirmed that he would make continued efforts to develop the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.
