Greetings to Gambian FM

DPRK Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho sent a congratulatory message on Thursday to Momodu Tangara upon his appointment as minister for Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad of the Republic of Gambia.

The message expressed belief that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries would strengthen in the interests of the two peoples in the future, wishing him success in his new work.

Reception Given at Chinese Embassy

Zhang Chenggang, charge d’affaires ad interim of the Chinese embassy here, hosted a reception at the embassy on Wednesday to mark the 57th anniversary of the conclusion of the DPRK-China Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance.

Present there on invitation were Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK, Ryu Myong Son, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Ri Kil Song, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, and officials concerned.

Staff members of the Chinese embassy and Chinese guests staying here were on hand.

Egyptian Ambassador Gives Reception

Egyptian Ambassador to the DPRK Sameh Lotfi Abdelhady gave a reception at the Taedonggang Diplomatic Club on Tuesday to mark the 66th anniversary of the July 23 revolution in Egypt.

Present there on invitation were Kim Sung Du, chairman of the Education Commission who is chairman of the DPRK-Egypt Friendship Association, Ryu Myong Son, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Ho Yong Bok, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, So Ho Won, vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, Mun Jae Chol, vice-director general of the General Bureau for Affairs with Diplomatic Corps, and officials concerned and representatives of foreign embassies and international organizations here.

Speeches were made at the reception.

Congratulations to Malaysian FM

DPRK Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho on Wednesday sent a congratulatory message to Datuk Saifuddin Abudullah upon his appointment as foreign minister of Malaysia.

The message wished the Malaysian foreign minister success in his work for developing the country’s external affairs, expressing the belief that the traditional ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries would grow stronger in line with the requirements of the new situation.
