Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between DPRK and Laos Marked in Laos

A lecture was hosted by the Laotian Foreign Ministry in Vientiane on June 20 to mark the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

The event was attended by personages of the Laotian Foreign Ministry, the Committee for External Affairs of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and other units and the DPRK Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Laos and staff members of his Embassy.

Prior to the lecture, the chief of the diplomatic institute of the Laotian Foreign Ministry mentioned in a speech that the exchange and cooperation between the two countries have proceeded in high gear for several decades since the establishment of diplomatic relations despite the complicated international situation, expressing the expectation that the relations would further expand in the future.

Negotiations Held between Vice Foreign Ministers of DPRK and Russia

Negotiations between Vice Foreign Minister Im Chon Il, who is visiting Russia as head of a DPRK Foreign Ministry delegation, and Vice Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Igor Morgulov were held in Moscow on June 24.

At the negotiations both sides discussed the issues of further developing the traditional DPRK-Russia friendly relations by boosting exchanges and contacts in various fields, including high-level visit and intensifying economic and cultural cooperation as agreed at the historic DPRK-Russia summit meeting and talks.

They also exchanged views on the regional and international issues of mutual concern.
