DPRK Permanent Representative at UN Sends Letter to UNSC President

The DPRK permanent representative at the UN sent a letter to the President of the UN Security Council on August 25.

The letter referred to the fact that the U.S. commenced the U.S.-south Korea Ulji Freedom Guardian 17 joint military exercises from August 21, 2017 in flagrant disregard of growing concerns and oppositions from the international community and exposed the provocative and aggressive nature of the drills.

DPRK Delegation Clarifies Its Stand at Geneva Disarmament Conference

DPRK delegation clarified the following principled stand as regards the on-going U.S.-south Korea joint military drill against the DPRK at plenary of the third part of Conference on Disarmament  in  Geneva on August 22:

The root cause of the nuclear issue that spawned on the Korean peninsula and the vicious cycle of tensions lies in the U.S. hostile policy and nuclear threat against the DPRK.

In order to ease the tension and avert dangerous military conflict on the Korean peninsula and in the region, the U.S. should first take a right choice and prove it in action as it introduced lots of nuclear strategic assets around the Korean peninsula and caused a troublesome situation.

Indonesian Embassy Gives Reception

The Indonesian embassy here Wednesday gave a reception at the Taedonggang Diplomatic Club on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of Indonesia’s independence.

Present there on invitation were Choe Hui Chol, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Mun Jae Chol, vice-general director of the General Bureau for Affairs with Diplomatic Corps, officials concerned, foreign diplomatic envoys and representatives of international bodies here.

DPRK Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho Thursday sent a message of greetings to Retno Lestari Priansari Marsudi, foreign minister of Indonesia, on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of its independence.

The message expressed belief that the traditional friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries would grow stronger by their common efforts.
