July 19 is a significant day which marks the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the DPRK-Russia Joint Declaration.
In July, Juche 89(2000), the historic summit meeting and talks were held in Pyongyang between Chairman Kim Jong Il and Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, President of the Russian Federation.
At the talks, top leaders of the two countries exchanged their views on the issue for developing bilateral relations and other major international issues of mutual interests, and adopted the DPRK-Russia Joint Declaration, which serves as a historic milestone by having reflected the common desire of the peoples of the two countries to expand and develop the traditional ties of friendship between the DPRK and the Russian Federation and by having laid a solid foundation for developing the long-standing and traditional relations of friendship, as required by the new era.

Recently, social movement for eradicating the colonial remnants is actively waged in African countries amid the globally intensified wave against racism.
On June 26 in Uganda, over 5000 people including parliamentarians and lawyers submitted a petition to the government and the national assembly, which demands the eradication of the colonial remnants.
In the petition, they pointed out that the colonial aftereffects still persist now 58 years since the British withdrawal from Uganda, and called for the removal of all kinds of colonial names and monuments which are infringing upon the human rights and freedom of the African people.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un received a floral basket and a congratulatory letter from Atul Malhari Gotsurve, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the DPRK, on the occasion of the 8th anniversary of the conferment of the title of the DPRK Marshal on him.
The floral basket and congratulatory letter were conveyed to an official concerned on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Leader was presented with floral baskets by Jin Feng Yi, Lin Yan and Tang Yi Ming, members of the China Dandong branch of the Kim Il Sung–Kim Jong Il Foundation, on the same day.
Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), received a reply message from Khaltmaa Battulga, President of Mongolia, on July 12.
The Mongolian President in his message expressed sincere thanks to Kim Jong Un for having sent warm congratulations on the occasion of 99th anniversary of the victory of the Mongolian people’s revolution, a national holiday of the Mongolian people.
Friendly and cooperative relations between the Mongolia and the DPRK, which have a long history and tradition, have steadily developed thanks to the deep attention of the preceding leaders of the two countries, the message said.

Kim Jae Ryong, Premier of the DPRK Cabinet, sent a congratulatory message on July 11 to Mongolian Prime Minister U. Khurelsukh on the occasion of the 99th anniversary of the victory of the Mongolian people’s revolution.
Expressing belief that the traditional ties of friendship and cooperation between the peoples of the two countries would steadily grow strong as required by the new era, the message wished him and the government of Mongolia greater success in their work for the development and prosperity of the country.
