Message of Sympathy to President of Sierra Leone

Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK, on Friday sent a message of sympathy to Ernest Bai Koroma, president of the Republic of Sierra Leone, over the flooding and mudslide caused by heavy rains that claimed big casualties and huge material losses in the capital of the country.

Kim in the message expressed deep condolences and sympathy to the government and people of the country and residents in flood-hit areas.

He wished them success in their efforts to recover from the damage as early as possible and achieve the national unity and socio-economic development under the leadership of the president.

Congratulations to Kenyan President

Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK, on Aug 16 sent a congratulatory message to Uhuru Kenyatta upon his re-election as president of Kenya.

Kim in the message sincerely wished the president bigger success in his responsible work for the country’s prosperity and people’s well-being, expressing the belief that the existing ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries would grow stronger in the future, too.

Korean Jurists Committee Term UNSC’s “Sanctions Resolution” against DPRK Illegal

The Korean Jurists Committee Thursday issued a statement terming as illegal the anti-DPRK “sanctions resolution” cooked up by the U.S. by abusing the UN Security Council over its test-launch of ICBM Hwasong-14.

The U.S. fabricated the unprecedented hash “sanctions resolution” which categorically cut off normal trade activities and economic exchange of the DPRK, the statement said, adding it is an unethical criminal act which contradicts paragraph 2, Article 1 of “International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights” which provides for not depriving a sovereign state of means of existence, and the act which runs counter to internationally recognized peremptory norm.

Kim Yong Nam Meets Foreign Figures Participating in 5th International Festival in Praise of Great Persons of Mt Paektu

Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK, Thursday met and had a talk with foreign personages who are participating in the 5th International Festival in Praise of the Great Persons of Mt Paektu at the Mansudae Assembly Hall.

Greetings to President of Gabon

Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK, Thursday sent a message of greetings to Ali Bongo Ondimba, president of Gabon, on the occasion of the 57th anniversary of its independence.

The message expressed belief that the long-standing relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries would grow stronger in various fields and wished the president of Gabon greater success in his work to achieve the country’s political stability and socio-economic prosperity.
