Message of Sympathy to Iranian President

Kim Yong Nam, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Workers’ Party of Korea Central Committee and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK, sent a message of sympathy on Monday to Hassan Rouhani, president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which said:

Upon hearing the sad news that Kermanshah region located in the west of Iran was hit by earthquake, claiming heavy human and material losses, I express my deep sympathy and condolences to you and, through you, to the victims and their families.

I hope that you and your government will recover from the consequences of this disaster at the earliest possible date and bring the life of the citizens in the disaster-stricken region to normal.

Greetings to President of Palestine

Kim Yong Nam, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People’s Assembly, sent a message of greetings on Tuesday to Mahmoud Abbas, president of Palestine, on the occasion of the 29th anniversary of the proclamation of the State of Palestine.

The message wished the Palestinian people bigger success in their just struggle to put an end to the occupation by Israel and build an independent state with East Kuds as its capital city.

Greetings to Angolan President

Kim Yong Nam, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People’s Assembly, sent a message of greetings on November 11 to Joao Manuel Goncalves Lourenco, president of Angola, on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of its independence.

Kim Yong Nam wished the president success in his work for the country’s development and the friendly Angolan people prosperity, expressing the belief that the close ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries would continue to strengthen in their common interests.

Ri Su Yong Meets German Guest

Ri Su Yong, member of the Political Bureau and vice-chairman of the C.C., Workers’ Party of Korea and chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK, had a talk on Friday with Wolfgang Nowak, former general director for Political Planning of Mr. Schroeder’s Cabinet of Germany, who is now visiting the DPRK.

Statement of DPRK NCC for Anti-Money Laundering and Combating Financing of Terrorism

A spokesperson for the National Coordinating Committee of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea(DPRK) for Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism gave the following answer to a question raised by KCNA on Thursday as regards the fact that an international financial supervisory body once again made a scene of adopting anti-DPRK statements:

A plenary meeting of the Financial Action Task Force(FATF) on Anti-Money Laundering, an international financial supervisory body, was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from November 1 to 3.

Adopted at this meeting were an “open statement”, that runs through with stereo-typed allegations such as the DPRK’s failure to address the deficiencies in its anti-money laundering, and an additional “statement” calling for effective implementation of the United Nations Security Council(UNSC) “resolutions” in order to stop the DPRK’s financing of proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction(WMDs).
