Kim Hyong Hun, vice-minister of Public Health of the DPRK, separately sent letters to heads of international organizations on June 12 as regards the fact that the delivery of healthcare aid goods has been delayed due to the sanctions by the U.S.
The heads are the executive director of the United Nations Children’s Fund(UNICEF), the director-general of the World Health Organization(WHO) and the executive director of the secretariat of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria(GFATM).
In the letters Kim appreciated those bodies for having positively cooperated with the DPRK in stamping out tuberculosis and malaria since 2010.

U.S. citizen Otto Frederick Warmbier, who had been in hard labor, was sent back home on June 13, 2017 on humanitarian grounds according to the adjudication made on the same day by the Central Court of the DPRK.
DPRK Premier Pak Pong Ju sent a message of sympathy to Sheikh Hasina, prime minister of Bangladesh, on Thursday over tropical heavy rains that caused landslides in the southern part of the country causing heavy casualties and material loss.
The message hoped that the Bangladeshi government would eradicate the aftermath of the disaster and bring to normal the life of the residents in the affected area as early as possible.
An event took place at the People’s Palace of Culture here on Wednesday to observe World Blood Donor Day.
Present there were officials in the field of public health and relevant units and voluntary blood donors, the acting representative of the WHO and staff members of the missions of international organizations in the DPRK and a delegation of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies working in the DPRK.
Speakers expressed thanks to the blood donors and mentioned the successes and experience gained in the field of blood transfusion.

Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People’s Assembly, sent a message of greetings to Elizabeth II, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, on June 1 on her official birthday, its national day.
Kim in the message extended greetings to the Queen and the British people and wished her good health and happiness.
