Answer of Spokesman for Institute for American Studies of DPRK FM

A spokesman for the Institute for American Studies, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK, gave the following answer to a question put by KCNA on February 06, as regards the U.S. release of so-called “Nuclear Posture Review”.

Recently, Trump administration released the so-called “Nuclear Posture Review” which has clearly exposed its heinous ambition to blackmail other sovereign states and dominate the world with nuclear weapons by speeding up modernization and diversification of all its nuclear lethal weapons for possible use at any moment.

The United States is the only country which developed nuclear weapons first in the world and slaughtered hundreds of thousands of civilians by using them. It is a nuclear criminal state which has huge stockpile of all kinds of nuclear lethal weapons and drives the world into an outbreak of nuclear war.

A spokesman for the Korea-Asia Association on Thursday gave the following answer to a question raised by KCNA over “A Resolution on the Peace of the Korean Peninsula” which was adopted at the 26th meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum in Vietnam:

The 26th meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum(APPF) held recently in Vietnam adopted the so-called “Resolution on the Peace of the Korean peninsula”.

What cannot be overlooked is the fact that the “resolution” denounced the self-defensive measures taken by the DPRK as a serious provocation against the stability of the Korean Peninsula and the peace of Northeast Asia and the world, while insisting on “the abandonment of nuclear weapons” of the DPRK, a full-fledged nuclear power.

U.S. Blasted for Their Military Provocation

The director of Press of the Institute for American Studies, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK, gave an answer to a question raised by KCNA on January 23 as regards the increased level of military threat by the United States to the DPRK.

A rare atmosphere of easing tension on the Korean peninsula is now being created as the inter-Korean talks are held on our participation in the 23rd Winter Olympics. On the contrary, however, the United States is making extremely unusual military moves targeting our country, the director said, and went on:

The U.S. has moved the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier strike group “Carl Vinson” into the waters around the Korean peninsula and plans to dispatch soon another nuclear-powered aircraft carrier strike group “Stennis”, under the pretext of countering a possible “provocation” of the DPRK during the Winter Olympics.

U.S. Accused of Convening FMs’ Meeting of Countries Which Participated in Korean War

A spokesman for the Institute for American Studies of the DPRK Foreign Ministry gave the following answer to a question raised by KCNA on January 18 as regards the foreign ministers’ meeting of the countries that participated in the Korean War, recently convened by the U.S. together with Canada:

The U.S., in collusion with Canada created the scene of war simulation by summoning the foreign ministers’ meeting of the countries that participated in the Korean War in Vancouver, Canada from January 15 to 16. Participated in this meeting were 20 countries including the ones that had followed the U.S. to the aggressive war against our country from 1950 to 1953.

At the meeting, the U.S. Secretary of State openly trumpeted that they should intensify the pressure campaign against us until we stop nuclear program by way of limiting the export of oil and industrial products, strengthening naval control, expelling our workers abroad, etc. and he went so far as to insist on the military option.

Abe Group Accused of Further Clinging to Sanctions and Pressure Campaign against DPRK

A spokesperson for the Institute for Studies of Japan of the DPRK Foreign Ministry gave the following answer to a question raised by the KCNA on January 18 regarding the fact that the Abe group is further clinging to the sanctions and pressure campaign against the DPRK:

During his recent tour of some European countries, Japanese prime minister Abe mentioned the DPRK’s “nuclear and missile development” and abduction issue every time he discussed bilateral relations with these countries and heinously maneuvered to drag them into cooperation for pressure against the DPRK.

Abe cried out that the DPRK launched a ballistic missile that can hit Vilnius and Belgrade and it is a serious threat to the entire Europe and that they should make the DPRK change its policy through maximum pressure.
