DPRK Ambassador Meets Assistant Foreign Minister of Iran

Han Song U, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to the Islamic Republic of Iran, met and had a talk with H.E. Reza Zabib, Assistant Foreign Minister & Director General of the Department of Asia and Oceania of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on June 21.

The Ambassador notified the Director General of the Third Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) successfully held under the guidance of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the WPK, associating with the immortal Party-building achievements made by Chairman Kim Jong Il. He also referred to the great successes being achieved by the Korean people in their efforts to carry out the tasks set forth at the Eighth Congress of the WPK.

The Director General said that H.E. Kim Jong Il was an outstanding politician who accomplished great feats in frustrating the pressure of the U.S. and the Western countries and opening up the prospects for building a strong country by strengthening and developing the WPK into a powerful Party, adding that his achievements will be kept outstandingly in the record of modern history of Korea.

Saying that the news of the Plenary Meeting held under the guidance of H.E. General Secretary Kim Jong Un is drawing the world attention, he expressed the readiness of the Iranian government – to be newly formed – to continue to cherish the relations with the DPRK and to strengthen the bilateral cooperation in various fields including politics, economy and culture.
