First Anniversary of June 12 DPRK-U.S. Joint Statement Marked in Russia

Russian organizations made public statements on June 12, the first anniversary of the June 12 DPRK-U.S. Joint Statement.

The Regional Social Organization of Russia “Borozino” in its statement expressed full support to the Joint Statement adopted between the DPRK and the U.S. last year.

It noted: We expected that a new page of the DPRK-U.S. relations would be open in the wake of the first DPRK-U.S. summit meeting and talks.

However, the U.S. is not implementing the Joint Statement but insisting on the DPRK’s unilateral abandonment of nukes, the organization said, adding:

The U.S. is also disturbing the development of the north-south relations.

We oppose the behavior of the U.S. and the south Korean authorities and extend full solidarity to the DPRK’s sincere efforts for peace, stability and reunification of the Korean peninsula.

The Central Committee of the Lenin Young Communist League of the Russian Federation said in its statement that despite the DPRK’s positive measures, the U.S. has acted contrary to the expectations of progressives. It urged the U.S. to display a decisive political will and take steps to implement the said Joint Statement. It sincerely hoped that the Korean people would make big successes in socialist construction.
