An event took place at the People’s Palace of Culture on Tuesday to mark the International Day of the Midwife 2019.
Present there were officials in the field of public health, those at ministries and national institutions and media, and members of the missions of international organizations including representatives of the United Nations Population Fund and the World Food Program here.
At the event speakers mentioned that the International Midwives Federation is conducting diverse activities to draw more public attention to midwives under this year’s theme of “Midwife-Guardian of Women’s Right.”
They stressed the need to strengthen the ranks of midwives and take care of pregnant women and nursing mothers in a responsible manner so as to protect women’s right.
Then there was a presentation of experience and a question-and-answer session for midwives.
The attendees enjoyed an art performance given by medical workers of the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital.
