Kim Yong Nam Meets Leading Members of Chinese Sports Delegation

Kim Yong Nam, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK, met leading members of the Chinese sports delegation on a goodwill visit to the DPRK at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on Friday.

He had a friendly talk with Gou Zhongwen, minister of the General Administration of Sports of China, Wang Yajun, deputy head of the International Liaison Department of the C.C., Communist Party of China, Li Yingchuan, vice-minister of the General Administration of Sports, and Yao Ming, president of the Chinese Basketball Association, who paid a courtesy call on him.

The visit of the Chinese sports delegation contributed to strengthening the exchange in sports and deepening the friendship between the peoples of the two countries, Kim Yong Nam said, stressing the need to expand the DPRK-China friendly and cooperative relations in the future.

Gou Zhongwen said that the future of socialist Korea is bright and it will make great progress in sports thanks to the wise leadership of Chairman Kim Jong Un. And he expressed the will to strive for brisk promotion of exchange between the two countries in sports.

Present there were Kim Il Guk, minister of the Physical Culture and Sports, Ri Chang Gun, vice department director of the Central Committee of the WPK, officials concerned, Li Jinjun, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK, and members of the delegation.
