The Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries and the DPRK-China Friendship Association hosted a reception at the People’s Palace of Culture on Sunday on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea(DPRK) and the People’s Republic of China(PRC).
Present there on invitation were Chinese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the DPRK Li Jinjun and his Embassy members and Chinese students and guests staying in the DPRK.
Present there were Thae Hyong Chol, Vice-President of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly, and officials concerned.
Thae Hyong Chol in a speech said that the establishment of diplomatic ties offered a historic occasion for developing the bilateral friendship onto a new high level.
The traditional DPRK-PRC friendship is daily developing with vitality under the deep care of Chairman of the State Affairs Commission Kim Jong Un and President Xi Jinping, he said.
It is the consistent stand of the Workers’ Party of Korea and government of the DPRK to invariably carry forward and develop the bilateral friendship.
Li Jinjun said that the two countries overcame difficulties together in socialist construction and strengthened the militant friendship after the establishment of diplomatic relations.
The PRC-DPRK friendship that has become stronger with the passage of time and cannot be bartered for anything will be carried forward, he underscored.
He stressed the need to make a new and bigger contribution to bringing more well-being to the peoples of two countries and the regional peace and prosperity in the spirit of the important agreement made by General Secretary Xi Jinping and Chairman Kim Jong Un.
