Staff members of the Russian Embassy here laid a wreath at the Liberation Tower on Thursday, the 74th anniversary of Korea’s liberation.
Present at the wreath-laying ceremony were Alexandr Matsegora, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and members of the Russian Embassy, Morgulov Igor, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation and his party and diplomatic envoys and military attaches of foreign embassies here.
A wreath in the name of the Russian Embassy was laid at the tower.
The participants paid silent tribute in memory of the fallen fighters of the Soviet Army.
That day the members of the Russian Embassy also laid a wreath and bouquets at the cemetery of fallen fighters of the Soviet Army in Sadong District, Pyongyang.
Earlier, they visited the liberation towers, statues of Soviet soldiers, graves of fallen Soviet soldiers and monuments to the fallen Soviet soldiers in local areas.
Meanwhile, staff members of the Russian consulate general in Chongjin laid bouquets before the liberation tower and the graves of fallen fighters of the Soviet Army in Chongjin City.
