Staff members of the Embassy of Russian Federation here laid a wreath at the Liberation Tower on Thursday on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of Russia’s victory in the great Patriotic War.
Present at the wreath-laying ceremony were Alexandr Matsegora, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and members of the Russian Embassy and diplomatic envoys and military attaches of foreign embassies here.
A wreath in the name of the Russian Embassy was laid at the Tower.
The participants paid a silent tribute to fallen fighters of the Soviet Army and looked round the Tower.
Staff members of the Russian Embassy also placed a wreath and bouquets at the cemetery of fallen fighters of the Soviet Army in Sadong District, Pyongyang on the same day.
Earlier, they visited liberation towers, statues of Soviet soldiers, cemeteries and monuments to the fallen Soviet soldiers in local areas.
And also, staff members of the Russian Consulate General in Chongjin placed bouquets at the Liberation Tower and the cemetery of fallen soldiers of the Soviet Army in Chongjin City of North Hamgyong Province, and a reception was hosted by the Consulate General.
