Kim Jong Un, President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), sent a congratulatory message to Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, President of the Russian Federation, on August 15.
The message extended warm greetings to the President, government and people of Russia on behalf of the government and people of the DPRK on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the liberation of Korea.
The DPRK-Russia friendship forged in blood in the struggle against the common enemy during the great hard-fought anti-Japanese war has invariably been carried forward century after century and generation after generation despite all kinds of challenges of history, it noted, adding that the Korean people are looking back with deep emotion on the service personnel of the Red Army who dedicated their precious lives to the sacred cause for liberating Korea.
It expressed the belief that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries with long history and traditions would further strengthen and develop onto a new strategic level on the basis of the agreements reached at the 2019 meeting in Vladivostok.
The message sincerely wished the President of Russia good health and bigger successes in his responsible work for the prosperity of the country and happiness of the people.
