Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, sent a message of greetings on Monday to Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The message said:
I send warm congratulations to Comrade General Secretary and the fraternal Vietnamese Party, government and people on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the founding of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The founding of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam was a historic event that provided a new worthwhile life to the people of your country and paved a broad avenue toward development and prosperity of the country and nation.
I am pleased that the Vietnamese Party, government and people have registered many successes in the struggle for implementing the decision made at the 12th Congress of the Party under the leadership of Comrade General Secretary.
Our significant meeting in March offered an important occasion in invariably developing and strengthening the traditional DPRK-Vietnam friendship provided by the preceding leaders.
Availing myself of this opportunity, I sincerely wish Comrade General Secretary good health and bigger success in your responsible work, expressing belief that the friendly and cooperative ties between our two Parties and countries with a long history and tradition would as ever grow stronger.
