Talks were held at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on Monday between the DPRK Foreign Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Syrian Arab Republic who doubles as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
Present there from the DPRK side were Vice Foreign Minister Pak Myong Guk and officials of the Foreign Ministry and from the Syrian side were members of the Syrian government delegation and Syrian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the DPRK Tammam Sulaiman.
At the talks, DPRK Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho and Syrian Deputy Prime Minister Walid Al-Muallem underscored the need to further develop the historic and traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries provided by the preceding leaders. They exchanged the views in depth on regional and international matters and reached a consensus on them, while reaffirming their commitments to boosting mutual support and solidarity.
At the end of the talks a MOU on political negotiations between the DPRK Foreign Ministry and the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates was signed.
