Permanent Representative of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to the United Nations (UN) delivered a statement at Non-aligned Movement(NAM) Ministerial Meeting held via video conference on July 14.
The permanent representative said that “Non-Aligned Movement at the centre of multilateral efforts in responding to global challenges” was adopted as the theme for the current meeting, which is a timely and appropriate choice as it reflects the trend of the present times running against the high-handedness, arbitrariness and unilateralism of specific forces rampant in the international arena.
He said that this day, in the midst of serious socio-economic crisis incurred by the pandemic, NAM is faced with grave challenges in its struggle to safeguard sovereignty of the countries and nations and to achieve peace, prosperity and sustainable development, and mentioned as follows:

Ri Son Gwon, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, sent a congratulatory message on July 13 to Djordje Radulovic, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, on the occasion of its National Day.
The message expressed belief that the bilateral relations of friendship would, in the future, too, develop in the mutual interests of the two countries and wished the Foreign Minister of Montenegro success in his work.
Ri Son Gwon, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), sent a congratulatory message to Wang Yi, member of the State Council and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), on July 11, 2021 on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the conclusion of the DPRK-China Treaty on Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance.
The message said that for the past sixty years since the conclusion of the Treaty the two countries have supported and cooperated with each other, actively promoting the cause of socialist construction in the two countries and contributing to defending of world peace and security.
It expressed the belief that there would be more dynamic exchange and cooperation between the two in the diplomatic field to steadily develop the bilateral relations as required by the new era and in conformity with the desire of the two peoples true to the noble intention of the top leaders of the two countries.

Jon Tong Chol, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, met with Bello Kazaure, Chief of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on June 28.
At the talk, the Chief of Protocol said that the DPRK government and people are achieving successes in economic construction and improvement of people’s life by displaying the spirit of self-reliance even in the global health crisis. He also said that he would do his best to further strengthen and develop the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.
Han Song U, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to the Islamic Republic of Iran, met and had a talk with H.E. Reza Zabib, Assistant Foreign Minister & Director General of the Department of Asia and Oceania of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on June 21.
The Ambassador notified the Director General of the Third Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) successfully held under the guidance of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the WPK, associating with the immortal Party-building achievements made by Chairman Kim Jong Il. He also referred to the great successes being achieved by the Korean people in their efforts to carry out the tasks set forth at the Eighth Congress of the WPK.
The Director General said that H.E. Kim Jong Il was an outstanding politician who accomplished great feats in frustrating the pressure of the U.S. and the Western countries and opening up the prospects for building a strong country by strengthening and developing the WPK into a powerful Party, adding that his achievements will be kept outstandingly in the record of modern history of Korea.
